Scientist all around the world believe that the evolution of plants relies heavily on the adaptations made by the Multicellular Green Algae. When scientist studied the differences between Multicellular Green Algae and land plants they ended up finding a lot more similarities than differences. For example, Multicellular Green Algae have the same size, color, and appearance of plants. They have reproductive cycles that are similar to those of plants . In addition, Green Algae have cell walls and photosynthetic pigments that are identical to those of plants. DNA sequences confirm that plants are closely related to certain groups of Green Algae. The alga Halimeda is found in Honduras in Central America. It has many features in common with plants.
